ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - News and notes from the UCF football team for Saturday, July 30. It's the final open weekend before the Knights report on Wednesday.
News
-Jah Reid, a third-round pick, signed with the Baltimore Ravens and already has been one of the top rookies who could start right away on the offensive line.
-A draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers, Bruce Miller signed this week, but it was announced Friday he was placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform List. The C-USA Defensive Player of the Year has suited up with the 49ers as a fullback.
-Free agents and 2010 UCF Knights Kamar Aiken signed with the Buffalo Bills, while Jamar Newsome joined the Jacksonville Jaguars. Also, free agent Mike Sims-Walker agreed to a one-year deal with the St. Louis Rams Friday evening.
-Congratulations to Kristin N., Caitlin M. and Steven C. for winning a 2011 Knights Insider College Football Preview magazine during Friday's Facebook trivia contest (follow UCF Knights Insider today!).

-Suffered a torn ACL last spring and missed all of 2010
-Worked feverishly to get back to 100 percent, but the performances of Latavius Murray and Ronnie Weaver kept Harvey on the sidelines en route to a medical redshirt
-Was the All-C-USA Preseason First Team pick at running back last year
-Racked up 1,109 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns in 2009 as UCF earned a berth in the St. Petersburg Bowl
-In 2009, had five 100-yard rushing games, including 219 yards on 42 carries vs. Memphis
-From 2008-09, has 1,628 yards on 386 attempts for a 4.2-yard average
Stat of the Day
-In 2010, UCF led in time of possession in 12 of its 14 games. The only two where it trailed was against NC State and in the win over Georgia in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
What to Look For

Should UCF host the C-USA Championship Game for the fourth time in seven years, it would be played on Saturday, Dec. 3, and season ticket holders will receive the first shot at the best seats.
