Women's Golf Set for Texas Showdown

ORLANDO – The No. 22 Knights head to Texas for the first time this season to play in the Texas Showdown at the Dallas Athletic Club April 8-9. 

The Texas Showdown will feature 36 holes of stroke play on Monday followed by two rounds of match play on Tuesday. This will be the first time this season for the Knights to compete in match play. 

The Black and Gold will be joined in the eight-team field by Baylor (host), BYU, Kansas, Maryland, SMU (host), Texas State and UNLV. 

Jess Baker, Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham, Molly Smith, Brittany Shin and Camille Banzet will represent the Knights at the Texas Showdown, while Katie Poots will compete as an individual. 

The Dallas Athletic Club is a private club located in Dallas, Texas, founded in 1919. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus, with 36 holes that offer two unique golfing experiences for the novice to the accomplished golfer. The Blue Course offers natural waterways, rolling hills and a variety of trees. The 1963 PGA Championship was played on the Blue Course along with other notable tournaments.
