Snyder and Sanchez Conclude Redbird Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. – Quinn Snyder and Emilio Sanchez of the UCF men's tennis team completed their time at the Redbird Invitation this past weekend, winning four of their six singles matches and two of three doubles matches together.

DAY ONE
The Knight duo started the tournament off with a statement win in doubles, beating Illinois State's Nam Pham and Tomas Valencia by a count of 8-2.

Snyder was edged in his first singles match of the tournament, falling to Illinois State's Pham 6-3, 7-5. Sanchez suffered the same fate, falling 6-4, 7-5 to Valencia.

DAY TWO
UCF went up against a pair of DePaul players on Saturday, cruising to an 8-1 victory over Shourya Verma and Jona Gitschel in doubles.

Snyder matched up with Verma in singles, earning his first victory of the tournament with a 7-5, 6-3 victory. Sanchez faced the other half of the DePaul duo, beating Gitschel 6-3, 6-1.

DAY THREE
Snyder and Sanchez were topped in doubles for the first and only time of the tournament, falling to Western Michigan's Fynn Lohse and Jackson Boone by a score of 8-4.

The UCF pair continued their winning ways in singles, as Snyder topped Lohse by a score of 7-6, 6-2 and Sanchez beat Boone 7-6, 6-0.

UP NEXT
The Knights are back in action on Oct. 20 as they travel to the ITA Southeast Regional Tournament in Tallahassee, Fla. The tournament will run through Oct. 23 and will feature players from teams in UCF's ITA region.
