ORLANDO - The UCF cheer team recorded its 23rd finish in the top five at the UCA National Championships Sunday evening, taking fifth place in Division 1A competition at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
The dance team, which reached the finals in the hip hop division for the first time since 2014, placed seventh for its best all-time finish in the category.
UCF has won three national championships in the Division 1A Cheer competition, most recently in 2020.
