ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – As the UCF Varsity Eight's bow ball moved across the finish line at the 2018 American Athletic Conference Championship on May 12, the Knights earned a membership in an elite group – the four-consecutive conference champion club.
 
In the five-year history of The American, only two women's programs have won four or more championships.

  • UCF Rowing (2015-18)
  • UConn Women's Basketball (2014-18)

 
At UCF, rowing becomes the fifth program to accomplish the feat, and the first to do so as a member of The American.

    • Four Atlantic Sun regular season titles from 1993-96
  • Volleyball
    • Four Atlantic Sun titles from 1994-97
  • Women's Tennis
    • Four A-Sun championships from 1997-2000
  • Track and Field
    • Six Atlantic Sun outdoor championships from 2000-05
    • Four Conference USA outdoor titles from 2010-13
  • Rowing
    • Four American Athletic Conference championships from 2015-18


 Nationally, the Knights became the 14th crew across 11 leagues to win four consecutive titles.

With The American's automatic bid secured, the Knights will now turn their focus to the NCAA Championships.  UCF will remain in the Sunshine State, as the 2018 championships will be held at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota from May 25-27.
