Decamps Advances to Consolation Final

ITA National Fall Championships Tournament Central Wake Forest Invitational Tournament Central

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's tennis team was in action in two different time zones on Saturday. Gabriel Decamps continued his winning streak in California while a pair of Knights were in action in North Carolina.

ITA National Fall Championships
After falling in his first match of the tournament, No. 29 Decamps has strung together four consecutive victories to reach the consolation bracket of the ITA National Fall Championships. On Saturday, he triumphed over Ohio State's Kyle Seelig in a tight battle in the consolation semifinals. Decamps and Seelig split the first two sets, forcing a third frame. The match was decided in a tiebreaker, as Decamps prevailed 6-3, 1-6, 7-6(4). He will face South Carolina's Raphael Lambling in the consolation final on Sunday at 2 p.m. EST.

Wake Forest Invitational
Manoel Alencar and Mikhail Sokolovskiy were in action in North Carolina, partaking in Wake Forest's invitational tournament.

Their day began with doubles play, as the pair combined to beat South Carolina's Brown/Pelletier by a count of 7-6(4).

In singles play, Alencar fell in his two singles matches as he was topped by Wake Forest's Siddhant Banthia 6-3, 6-3 and Georgia State's Roberts Grinvalds 6-4, 6-3. Sokolovskiy was edged in his match with Wake Forest's Matthew Thomson by a count of 6-3, 6-4. The Knight would pick up a victory in a walkover later in the day.
