ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, Orlando's Hometown Team is thanking its Hometown Heroes.
UCF's game with Memphis on Sept. 30 was originally scheduled for Sept. 9 and subsequently ended up being canceled with Hurricane Irma bearing down on Florida that weekend. So, it's only fitting that UCF Athletics is saying thank you to many of the Hometown Heroes who helped -- and are still helping -- our community recover.
UCF Athletics is encouraging fans to donate tickets for first responders, National Guard members, law enforcement officers and power company employees for the Memphis game. The Knights will match every ticket purchased or donated before Monday at 5 p.m. for these Hometown Heroes.
