Rosengrens Commit $1 Million

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Jim and Julia Rosengren have made a $1 million, five-year gift commitment to UCF Athletics.

The Rosengrens' gift will be used at the discretion of UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White. The gift is also part of the IGNITE Campaign, UCF's initiative to raise $500 million by June 2019.

"Julia and I are so proud to invest in Danny White's vision and UCF Football," Jim Rosengren said. "We are pleased to support all UCF athletic department teams and help provide championship-level resources and enhanced facilities for our teams. Go Knights! Charge On!"

White said he is hopeful the Rosengrens' gift will spur others to support the Knights as well.

"I'm thrilled to announce this leadership-level gift from Jim and Julia Rosengren," White said. "In our efforts to deliver a Top 25 intercollegiate athletics program and truly be Orlando's Hometown Team, gifts like this will continue to allow us to accelerate our growth. This gift also helps to sustain our incredible fund-raising momentum with UCF Football. The future is very bright for UCF. We invite all UCF alumni, friends and fans to follow the lead of the Rosengrens and invest in our vision."

The Rosengrens are no strangers to philanthropy, especially at UCF. Earlier this year, the they committed $275,000 to allow for the completion of the Spectrum Stadium Field Cabanas and the new J & J Rosengren Lounge. Jim Rosengren, a 1981 UCF graduate, made a $1 million commitment to support UCF RESTORES — UCF's PTSD clinic— in 2016. An Army veteran himself, the cause was close to his heart, especially after his son Josh returned after two tours in Iraq with severe PTSD, along with some physical wounds.

The Rosengrens also have strong ties to the UCF College of Sciences, as Jim shares a vision of scientific research, cutting-edge treatment and education to train the next generation of health-care providers.
