EDITORS NOTE: Aisha Patrick's blog, Patty's Place 10, gives Knight fans an inside look at the UCF women's basketball program, both on and off the court. Hailing from nearby Rockledge, Patrick has started all but one game in her career with the Knights and helped her team to the 2009 Conference USA Tournament championship. Twice snubbed from the C-USA All-Defensive Team, the team's shutdown defender will use the below space to sound off on all things about herself and the UCF women's basketball program as they prepare to pursue another championship in 2010-11.

Hello UCF fans,
My name is Aisha Patrick, but I'm known to the KNIGHTS' nation as Patty. I'm a rising junior on the UCF women's basketball team. This blog will inform you about events that take place on and off the court through my eyes. It will be a lot of fun to share our adventures with you. Hopefully through this blog you will get to share the excitement with us.
I am from the great city of Rockledge, Fla. Rockledge is about 45 miles away from UCF in Brevard County. The city is mostly known for its beaches. If you're not familiar with Rockledge I'm sure you are familiar with Cocoa Beach, not to mention Kennedy Space Center where the shuttles are launched. Being from Florida, I couldn't escape the state of great weather and attractions, and therefore I chose UCF to stay in a safe climate and be close to home.
On the court, we are currently in our offseason, which consists of workouts with our strength and conditioning coach Tracy Prosser and individual workouts, which involve the fundamentals of basketball. We lift weights three times a week and we add conditioning two times out of the three. Our workouts are the opener of our day because we start as early as 7 a.m. Our weekdays are filled with academics, workouts and preparation for this upcoming season. During the weekends, we bond as a team. Last weekend we enjoyed a night of bowling with some recruits and they got to hang out and get to know the current Knights.
There are rarely any dull moments in the UCF women's basketball program. We are full of fun and surprises. Our personalities are amazing and our support is phenomenal. This weekend, we will be helping relay for life set up their event on Friday. Saturday we will be having community service at the morning with the UCF book fair. We are happy to give back our time to our community because we know they support us as well.
I am more than excited to be sharing our fun events and extreme workouts with you this off season. I hope you will enjoy hearing about every moment as I have living them. Thanks for your time and attention, and until next time, this has been UCF women's basketball through the eyes of Patty.
