ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF sophomore Jale Hervey was named the American Athletic Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. The Huntsville, Ala., native earned the first weekly conference honor of her career.
Jale was really good all weekend, UCF head coach Todd Dagenais said. She's comfortable and confident. She's fitting into her role. I could not be more proud of her and what she's brought to our team.
Hervey was named the Radisson UCF Invitational MVP after four strong performances in her UCF debut. She recorded a .481 hitting percentage and notched 5.00 kills per set over four matches. In seven of UCF's 12 matches, Hervey had zero attack errors while recording at least three kills and led all players with a total of 60 kills. The outside hitter also served up seven aces over the weekend, and recorded a career-high five aces in UCF's win over FIU.
UCF Volleyball (4-0), which is presented by Radisson - UCF Area, returns to action Friday at 11 a.m. against Middle Tennessee in the opening match of the Varney's Invitational, hosted by Kansas State.
