ORLANDO, Fla. ( - UCF junior Delaina Sarden was named the American Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday. The Lawrenceville, Ga., native becomes the inaugural winner of the top weekly award in the new conference.

Sarden was named to the Holiday Inn Select UCF Invitational All-Tournament Team after four strong performances at the net. For the weekend, Sarden racked up 58 kills on 84 swings with just nine errors for a .583 attack percentage. The middle blocker was also a force defensively, denying 16 shots in 14 sets played.

This marks the second-career weekly honor for Sarden to go along with her Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week award on Oct. 29, 2012.

UCF (3-1) returns to action Friday at 1 p.m. against Elon in the opening match of the Holiday Inn Select UCF Classic.
