DALLAS, Texas (UCFAthletics.com) - The second installment of "DeLaina's Diary" is here as UCF's junior middle blocker Delaina Sarden continues to shine. Playing for Team White, Sarden's squad is currently tied for first as pool play continues. The Lawrenceville native has totalled 13 kills, four blocks and holds a .321 attack percentage thus far through two matches.
Beyond that, Sarden has reconnected with her former club program while competing here, and is enjoying playing around the junior athletes.
This is such a fun environment to be in as a junior player, Sarden said. It is great to be here competing this week. I had the chance to talk with players at my former club (A5), which was really cool.
Interacting with junior membership is a large part of the reason the WNTA2 program is being held in conjunction with Nationals. It is a great opportunity for club players to see what the college level of play looks like.
Thinking back on my club career, playing at Nationals was so important, Sarden said. It was great preparation for college, and gives you the chance to see all the different levels of play.
Stay tuned to UCFAthletics.com for the latest from DeLaina as she continues to video blog her experiences with USA Volleyball.
