ORLANDO, Fla. - With the 2014 campaign complete, a total of 18 UCF baseball players have ventured across the country to compete in eight different collegiate summer leagues.

Four Knights decided to stay close to campus by playing in the Florida Collegiate Summer League. Freshmen Dalton Duty and Brooks Morgan are with the College Park Freedom, while classmate Kyle Perkins is on the roster of the Deland Suns. The Sanford River Rats have junior righty Spencer Davis on its pitching staff.

Heading back to his home state was Dylan Moore, a Yorba Linda, Calif., native, to play with the Los Angeles Brewers, an affiliate of the Orange County Pioneers.

Sophomore right-handed pitcher Zac Favre headed up to the northeast to be a part of the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the Cape Cod League.

The Valley Baseball League is the home to five Knights. Seven strikeouts in 5.1 frames of work has been recorded by junior lefty Parker Thomas for the Staunton Braves, while juniors James Vasquez and Tommy Williams have each picked up a base hit.

The Waynesboro Generals are in the same league with junior Joe Marotta appearing in two games thus far. Freshman Eugene Vazquez has posted a .296 avg. through eight games, while scoring six times and driving home three runs.

Junior Erik Barber has picked up four hits including a double and three RBI for the Columbia Blowfish. The Martinsville Mustangs have seen a consistent .333 average compiled by junior Sam Tolleson, who has added a double, triple and two RBI.

A pair of Knights in freshman lefties Drew Faintich and Vinnie Rosace are on the roster of the Youse Orioles in the Call Ripken Collegiate Baseball League. Faintish has fanned five in four innings pitched.

Another UCF player returning home is freshman Matt Diorio to play with the Watertown Rams in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. The Staten Island, N.Y., native has picked up three hits and scored twice, while drawing four walks.

In one game of action thus far, freshman Robby Howell tossed four innings and yielded one walk for the Lima Locos in the Great Lakes Summer League.

UCF posted a 36-23 overall mark during the 2014 season. Junior pitcher Eric Skoglund, The American Pitcher of the Year, was selected in the third round by the Kansas City Royals.The Knights were also honored as The American Coaching Staff of the Year.
