ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF baseball team will begin its final week of regular season play with a trip to Tallahassee to take on no. 4-ranked Florida State. First pitch between the Knights and the Seminoles is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Tuesday from Dick Howser Stadium.

UCF (32-20) and Florida State (39-12) played two game earlier this season with the Seminoles winning both in Orlando back in March. The Knights nearly took out the then no. 2 Noles, but FSU came from behind twice to win 11-10 in front of a record crowd at Jay Bergman Field on March 11.
FSU has won eight straight against UCF, dating back to 2011. The Knights' last victory against the Seminoles was a 14-10 win on May 7, 2011. On Tuesday UCF will be looking for its sixth all-time triumph against FSU as the Noles hold a 28-5 in the history of the series.
Junior right-hander Ryan Meyer (3-1, 2.15 ERA) is scheduled to take the mound for the Knights on Tuesday. He will face off against Florida State left-hander Alec Byrd (1-0, 1.08 ERA).
After taking on Florida State Tuesday, the Knights will finish out American Athletic Conference play with a three-game series at UConn beginning Thursday. UCF is currently 16-5 in league play and controls its own destiny in the final weekend. The Knights can win the regular season title with a sweep of the Huskies.
