ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Head coach Todd Dagenais and staff are welcoming local volleyball coaches to attend their second 2009 Central Florida Volleyball Coaches Clinic on Wednesday, May 6 at The Venue at UCF. The information packed three-hour clinic, which is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., is open to the first 20 coaches to register.
Participants are asked to arrive between 5 and 5:15 p.m. on the day of the clinic to sign-in. Please register in advance at www.centralfloridavolleyballcamps.com. In the first segment coach Dagenais will discuss the UCF competitive axioms and how they were developed to maximize point scoring and practice efficiency.
Segment two will address the methodology behind how coach Dagenais constructs an efficient and meaningful practice plan that will translate into competition.
In the final segment, coach Dagenais will elaborate on how UCF constructs its defensive philosophy to incorporate its physical abilities and limitations while maintaining the flexibility to adjust to its opponent's abilities and limitations.
The Knights are coming off of their most successful season in five years in 2008, where they posted a 15-17 overall record, its best mark since 2003, and matched its best Conference USA record, going 6-10 in the fifth-toughest volleyball conference in the nation.
