Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF volleyball team will honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month beginning Friday, Oct. 12 when they kickoff fundraising for their "Dig for the Cure" match to be held on Oct. 28 against Memphis. All donations will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Fans can help the team raise funds for the Komen Foundation by pledging money per dig earned ($1 or $.10) by the Knights in the Oct. 28th match, or by making flat donations. Checks can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Those interested in pledging money or making a donation for UCF's "Dig for the Cure" event will be able to pick up forms at every match the Knights host in October or may also contact Suzi Katz (firstname.lastname@example.org) at (407) 823-3555.
In 2007, 10 of the 14 Atlantic 10 volleyball programs are scheduled to participate, along with seven teams from the West Coast Conference and 24 other programs from the ACC, Conference USA, Big 12 and other leagues.
