Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF volleyball team will become the first athletic program at UCF to play in the new UCF Arena on Friday, Sept. 28, against Conference USA foe East Carolina. The Knights (8-8, 0-2 C-USA) are looking for their first league win after dropping matches to Houston and Rice last weekend. Friday's match is schedule for 7 p.m.

Against Houston Sept. 21, Erin Campbell (Kansas City, Mo.) paced the Knights with 13 kills, while also registering seven digs and two block assists, while Jenny Heppert (Lawrence, Kan.) ended the match with six kills, two solo blocks and three block assists. Blaire Brueggemeyer (Burleson, Texas) added a match-high 29 assists and four service aces for the Knights.

She also holds the sixth spot with 0.47 service aces per game (28 aces, 60 games), while setter Brueggemeyer ranks ninth in C-USA with 9.86 assists per game (483 total assists). As a team, the Knights rank second in the league overall and in conference matches in service aces, and fourth in total blocks.

East Carolina (10-7, 1-1 C-USA) opened its conference schedule with a 3-2 loss to Tulsa, before defeating SMU in its second-straight five-game match, 3-2 last weekend. The Pirates are lead by CVU.com National Player of the Week Kelly Wernert, who has totaled 320 kills on the season, more than double the amount of any other player on her squad.

Friday's match also gives the residents of the Towers a chance to win bragging rights as the loudest and most dedicated volleyball fans as part of the "Battle of the Halls."
