ORLANDO - Amanda Stoutjesdyk hit .348 while recording 13 kills in the Golden Knights first round loss in the A-Sun tournament against Jacksonville. The Dolphins won 3-0 (30-28, 30-23, 34-32) to advance to the semifinals of the tournament.
Tanya Jarvis led UCF in game one with five kills. Game one featured six ties as neither team took a lead larger than three points in the first game. JU recorded 16 kills while the Golden Knights had 15 kills in the match. JU also was able to out-block UCF four-to-two.
Stoutjesdyk led the Knights with six kills in the second game, hitting .556 in the process. JU's Eva Stoilova responded with five of her own while hitting .333 in the second game. Both teams recorded 14 kills while JU hit .231 with UCF posting a .156 percentage. Game three was tight throughout and featured 14 ties, including six after the score was 22 all. The Golden Knights were able to hold off three match points before finally falling 34-32 in the third.
Lindsay Ward led JU with 14 kills in the match while Eva Stoilova added 10 for the Dolphins. Four players recorded double digits in digs with Kelly Ryals leading the way with 16.
UCF's Tanya Jarvis recorded 14 kills in her final match while Amanda Stoutjesdyk added 13 and four blocks. Katie Kohnen recorded a match-high 22 digs while Jarvis added 16 for her fifth double-double of the season. Kim Clonan had 40 assists for the Golden Knights.
UCF finished their final season in the A-Sun with an 8-15 record and 5-5 in the league. Jacksonville will advance to the semifinals tonight to face top seed Florida Atlantic.
