ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) - The Knights have won again. When the UCF women's golf team earned a share of runner-up honors at the American Athletic Conference Championship on Tuesday, it clinched the second straight all-sports War On I-4 Rivalry Series title for the Knights.

The year-long series that was created in 2016 to continue the passionate rivalry between UCF and USF pits the Knights and the Bulls against each other in every sport the two programs share. UCF won the inaugural series 48-31 during the 2016-17 year, and with a current score of 42-21, the Knights have clinched back-to-back championships.

Way back on Sept. 23, USF took the early 6-0 lead in the series when the Bulls men's soccer team defeated the Knights 3-2 in overtime in Tampa. After a draw in women's soccer and the Knights edging out the Bulls at The American Women's Cross Country Championships, everything was tied up at 9-9.

The UCF volleyball team completed a pair of sweeps over the Bulls and the Knights football team took down USF at Spectrum Stadium, 49-42, to give the Black and Gold a commanding 21-9 advantage in the series at the end of the fall.

The Knights men's basketball team then extended its win streak over USF with a pair of victories, while the Bulls got six points back in women's basketball. The UCF track and field team added three points by topping the Bulls at the women's indoor championships, making the score 30-15.

The tennis programs split the head-to-head matchups, as the UCF women's team won in early April to make the count 36-15 in favor of the Knights. After the Bulls won in men's tennis on Sunday, the women's golf team knew it could clinch by topping USF at the league championship.

The Knights did just that, placing second at the event, defeating the Bulls by 40 strokes on the weekend.

The remaining events for this season include two three-game series in Tampa as baseball travels west this weekend and softball makes the trip to USF April 27-29. There is also the men's golf championship in Palm Harbor next week and the outdoor track and field championships May 11-13 in Cincinnati.
