ORLANDO, Fla. - UCF women's basketball head coach Gail Striegler announced that Juliana Gomes has signed with the Golden Knights for the 2005-06 season. Gomes is the fourth signee for the Black and Gold.

Gomes comes to UCF from Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, Okla. Gomes is a 6'1" center originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil. She averaged 11 points per game and five rebounds a contest during the 2004-05 season for the Lady Mountaineers.

"Juliana is a physical player that gets up and down the floor very well," said Striegler. "She will be able to fill the role inside as well as get outside."

Gomes joins Jackie Akers, Elizabeth Fieser and Courtney Chessher who all signed earlier this year.

UCF finished the 2004-05 season with a 19-10 record and a 10-3 Atlantic Sun. The Golden Knights will enter Conference USA in the fall of 2005.
