DOTHAN, Ala. - Senior center/forward Ali Roberts was named to the 2005 Coca-Cola Atlantic Sun Women's Basketball Championship All-Tournament Team. UCF defeated Mercer in the quarterfinals of the tournament, 65-59 in overtime, and then fell to eventual champion Stetson in the semifinal round, 61-59.
Roberts averaged 19.5 points per game after netting 39 points in the two games. She was 13-for-27 from the field and 1-for-1 from behind the arc, while also shooting 12-for-15 from the free throw line. Roberts averaged 2.5 assists, three blocks and one steal per game in the tournament for the Golden Knights.
On the season, Roberts averaged a team-high 11.4 points per game and 2.5 blocks per game. Against conference opponents, she was second on the team in points with 11.2 and tied for first in blocks with 2.5 per game.
Joining Roberts on the all-tournament team were Audrey Muse from Troy, Patechia Hartman and Kelcy Roegiers-Jensen from Georgia State and Nefertiti Walker from Stetson, while Kristy Brown from Stetson earned tournament MVP.
During the 2005-06 season, the Golden Knights will be playing in Conference USA where they will take on NCAA Tournament participants Rice, Houston and TCU along with WNIT participants Tulsa and SMU.
