HOUSTON, Texas (UCFKnights.com) - After the first two games of the series were decided by one run, both starters -- UCF junior Juan Pimentel and Houston righty Mitch Ullom -- threw complete games on Sunday, but No. 24 Houston prevailed 1-0 over the Knights at Schroeder Park. The difference in the contest was a sixth inning solo homer by Joe Davis.

Pimentel (2-5) was fantastic for the Knights (18-16, 3-3 The American) and dialed up seven strikeouts in his eight innings of work. The Miami, Fla., native only allowed six hits and two walks.
UCF out-hit Houston (19-12, 3-3 The American), 7-6, with junior second baseman Ryan Crile and sophomore catcher Logan Heiser leading the way with two base knocks each. The Knights left five runners on base during the contest.
The Knights' defense behind Pimentel turned a pair of doubles play to increase their season total to 38. Both came on lineouts to freshman third baseman Matthew Mika in the second and junior shortstop Kam Gellinger in the seventh inning.
Ullom moved to 5-1 on the campaign and struck out two over nine innings. Davis also registered a two-hit game.
UCF completes a four-game road trip on Wednesday with a trip to No. 3 Miami with the first pitch set for 6 p.m.
