ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The Knights begin a four-game road trip at Jacksonville on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The contest at John Sessions Stadium is set to broadcast on ESPN3.
The pitching matchup features junior righty Trent Thompson (2-1, 3.63 ERA, 13 K) going up against the Dolphins' lefty Casey Kulina (0-0, 5.06 ERA, 6 K).
UCF (15-11) secured the sweep against Cornell on Sunday with a 16-0 victory that was highlighted by a seven-RBI performance by junior Eli Putnam, who was named to The American Honor Roll. The victory served as the 250th-career win by head coach Terry Rooney in his eighth season guiding the Knights.
Jacksonville (15-8) is coming off a 2-1 series loss at East Carolina, where the Dolphins won game two, 8-6. JU has tallied wins over Charleston Southern, Samford, FIU, Toledo, USF, Bethune-Cookman, Columbia, North Florida, Florida State and Mount St. Mary's.
Action in the American Athletic Conference kicks off on Friday with the Knights making a trip to Memphis. The opener of the series is set to start at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
UCF is back home on April 5 against No. 18 Florida Atlantic at 6:30 p.m.
