Game Notes
ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)--
The UCF volleyball team takes on Houston in American Athletic Conference action on Friday at 2 p.m. in Tampa. Due to Hurricane Matthew the match has been moved to USF's campus and will take place in The Corral.

"The first thing that stands out when I look at Houston is that they are getting the same amount of kills as their opponents," said head coach Todd Dagenais. "This match will come down to errors. They are doing a good job of making sure their opponents aren't getting a lot of kills. We have to make sure that we keep our offense at a high level and try to keep the errors down."

The Knights went 1-1 in conference play last week, defeating ECU before falling to preseason league favorite Cincinnati. Senior Jalé Hervey recorded 34 kills (4.25 kills per set), while redshirt junior Kia Bright tallied 31 kills, and hit at a .326 clip against the Bearcats. Freshman Jeanne Westney recorded nine total blocks (averaging 1.12 blocks per set).

On Houston:
  • The Cougars stand at 5-10 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
  • Houston holds an 11-6 edge in the all-time series over the Knights.
  • Last season, UCF went 1-1 against Houston, with each team recording a road victory.
  • The Cougars are 0-4 in conference play. They dropped decisions to Tulsa and SMU last weekend.
  • Sarah Afflerbaugh leads UH with 162 kills, averaging 2.89 kills per set this season. Keandra McCardell ranks first on the team with 435 assists she also has 115 digs. On the season, Katie Karbo has tallied 250 digs, averaging 4.31 digs per set.

Fun Fact:
  • The last time a match was moved due to weather came on Oct. 23, 2005 when the Knights faced Tulane in College Station, Texas.

UCF's match against Tulane remains scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday at The Venue.
