ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - For her success both in the classroom and on the court, UCF volleyball's Tory McCutcheon (Milton, Ont.) was named to the ESPN Academic All-District III Second Team Thursday by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

In order to be nominated for a spot on the academic all-district team, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) in both undergrad and graduate work.

In the classroom, McCutcheon currently holds a 3.97 GPA and is pursuing a degree in biology. She was a recipient of the 2010 Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal and was also a member of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. McCutcheon is a member of the UCF Deans' List and was a recipient of the UCF President's Honor Roll Certificate.

On the court, the sophomore ranks seventh in C-USA with a .332 overall attack percentage, while also ranking seventh in the league with a .350 attack percentage in C-USA only matches. McCutcheon has hit .300 or better in 10 different matches, while holding the two highest single-match attack percentages in C-USA this season (.750 vs. Houston/.722 vs. East Carolina).

McCutcheon leads the Knights in attack percentage and blocks per set (0.68/set). She has posted two or more blocks on 12 separate occasions and totaled five or more kills in 15 matches.

The Knights return to the friendly confines of The Venue at UCF for four-straight matches beginning Nov. 5 with a Friday night match-up vs. Tulane. During the home stretch, the Black and Gold will also take on Southern Miss, Tulsa and SMU, with the contest against the Golden Eagles on Nov. 7 set to air live on Bright House Sports Network.
