ORLANDO – The UCF men’s basketball team learned the full extent of its American Athletic Conference opponents on Wednesday, as the league announced its complete schedule pairings for the 2019-20 season.
As has been the case since Wichita State joined the conference, the Knights will play seven teams twice and four teams just once, two at home only and two on the road only.
Defending league champion and NCAA Tournament team from a year ago Cincinnati leads the crop of programs set to take on UCF twice during the 2019-20, which also includes in-state rival South Florida, Wichita State, Tulsa, Tulane, SMU and ECU.
The Knights will host offseason favorite Memphis and NCAA Tournament team from last season Temple, but not travel to FedEx Forum or Philadelphia.
Finally, UCF will only play UConn and last year’s Sweet 16 team Houston on the road this season.
The Knights finished last season fourth in The American with a record of 13-5. UCF was 15-2 overall and ended up 24-9 overall. The Knights earned their first berth to the NCAA Tournament since 2005 and won a game in the tourney for the first time in program history.
Complete schedule details for the 2019-20 season will be released at later date.
