After winning its seventh-consecutive weekend series and picking up its third sweep in American Athletic Conference play, the UCF baseball team moved up in the national rankings on Monday.

The Knights (28-16, 14-3) find themselves up five spots to No. 18 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper rankings, and also entered the Baseball America Top 25 Poll for the first time this season, checking in at No. 23. UCF joins Houston and Louisville as the only teams in The American to appear in both polls.

The highest ranking in UCF history for came in both 2001 and 2012 when the program ranked No. 7 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and USA Today/ESPN Coaches polls.

Eric Skoglund was also honored by The American on Monday after he picked up his seventh victory of the season Friday. The junior earned a spot on the weekly honor roll with a complete game, one run performance, striking out seven hitters to start the Knights' sweep of Rutgers.

UCF will get the next two days off before returning to the field for midweek action against in-state rival North Florida. Wednesday night's matchup with the Ospreys will serve as the fourth "Dollar Dog Knight" of 2014. Fans in attendance can enjoy $1 hot dogs all game long.
