The Knights (9-12) led the Blue Devils (2-2) by two runs heading into the bottom of the ninth inning. However, CCSU scored a pair in its final at bat and followed that up with a run in the top of the 10th to seal the victory.

Sophomore Tyler Martin (0-2) was charged with the loss after walking a batter that eventually came around to score unearned in the 10th. Zach Rodgers got the start and was unsuccessful in his bid to become the first UCF pitcher since Bryan Brown in 2010 to earn a victory in consecutive games. The junior scattered five hits and two runs over 5.1 innings pitched in a no decision.

Junior Sam Tolleson had a career game for the Black and Gold. The Houston, Texas native went 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs and hit first-career home run as a Knight. Tolleson's solo blast in the eighth inning provided UCF with some cushion as it extended its advantage to 4-2.

Sophomore Ryan Meyer nearly came up with a three-inning save, but an unearned run in the ninth kept him from finishing the game. The Oviedo native, making just his second-career appearance, tossed 2.1 innings and allowed two runs (one earned) to go along with a strikeout.

Trailing 2-1 in the sixth, the Knights took the lead for the first time on a pair of RBI singles by Tolleson and junior JoMarcos Woods.

UCF jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by freshman Kam Gellinger in the bottom of the second. Gellinger's fifth RBI of the season scored junior James Vasquez, who was hit by a pitch earlier in the inning and advanced to third on a double by junior Tommy Williams.

Junior Derrick Salberg extended his hitting streak to nine games with a ninth-inning single. The Kelso, Wash., native's nine-game run is the longest by any Knight this season and began all the way back on Feb. 21 against Ohio State.
