ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF Director of Tennis John Roddick announced the signing of Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi to a National Letter of Intent. Mazzuchi is the third member of the 2018 recruiting class for the Knights and will start playing for the Black and Gold in August.

"We are excited to have Juampi join the UCF Tennis family," Roddick said. "He was an incredibly accomplished player in ITF Juniors with a ranking of 13, including wins over the best players in the world. He will help our team reach the high goals we have set. We can't wait to get started."

Mazzuchi was ranked 13th in the world by the ITF Junior rankings last year. The Mar del Plata, Argentina, native has spent the majority of his 2018 season playing in ITF Futures events, reaching the singles main draw in every competition.

He has accumulated six ATP points, all of which have come from six straight round of 16 appearances in Futures events in 2018. He currently sits at 1,180 in the world ATP, a career best.

Mazzuchi climbed the world rankings with a streak of six straight round of 16 appearances in ITF Junior events 2017, before appearing in the main draws of Roland Garros Junior French Championships, The Junior Championships at Wimbledon and the US Open Junior Tennis Championships.
