ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – When the UCF men's tennis team returns to campus in the fall, the Knights will boast one of the top recruiting classes in the nation. The Tennis Recruiting Network announced that the Black and Gold had the eighth ranked recruiting class in Division I.

"We are very excited about our new incoming class for the 2018-19 season," Director of Tennis John Roddick said. "As a group, they have had stellar junior careers and will really help the program from day one."

"Trey reached No. 2 in the US rankings this spring and has really sky rocketed up the rankings in the past two years," Roddick continued. "Juan has been ranked in the top-15 in the ITF world junior rankings. Bogdan has also been a highly ranked ITF junior and has also earned several ATP points. Manoel is one of the most improved players over the past 12 months and has had some great success on the ITF Junior Tour. We can't wait to get to work."

Trey Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel signed National Letters of Intent to play at UCF earlier this season. Hilderbrand, a native of San Antonio, Texas, climbed all the way up to 31st in the World ITF Junior rankings this year. He was ranked No. 5 in by the Tennis Recruiting Network. Pavel, a Romanian international, reached No. 77 in the world in the ITF Junior rankings.

Joining the duo will be Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi and Manoel Alencar. Mazzuchi vaulted his way up to the top-15 in the world in the ITF Junior rankings. The native of Argentina competed in the main draws of Roland Garros Junior French Championships, The Junior Championships at Wimbledon and the US Open Junior Tennis Championships in 2017.

Arriving in Orlando from Brazil, Alencar will join fellow countryman Gabe Decamps on the UCF squad. Alencar's career best ranking was 332 back in 2017. He won the Copa El Savador doubles title in 2017, and has reached the quarterfinals in 18 events during his junior career. Alencar is no stranger to playing tennis in Florida. He has trained at the IMG Academy for the majority of his junior career.

The Knights were the highest ranked team from the American Athletic Conference. War On I-4 foe South Florida checked in at No. 15 in the national ranking. The Black and Gold was also named the best "mid-major" recruiting class.
