UCF With Strong Start to AAC Championship

PALM HARBOR, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s golf team wrapped up the first round of the American Athletic Conference Championship Sunday afternoon tied for fourth place. UCF shot 291(+7) and is tied with Temple heading into the second round.

Bobby Bai and Kyler Tate finished the first round with a 70(-1) each and both are tied for third overall. Bai converted three birds and Tate with a pair to pace the Knights.

Tommy Cao recorded the most birdies for the Knights with four and shot just two-over par with a 73(+2) and Colin Kresl shot 78(+7) to round out the first day. Clement Charmasson recorded an 80(+9).

As a team the Knights tallied 11 birdies. The team shot three-under on par fives and averaged 4.85 strokes per par five.

UCF is just six strokes off the leader, SMU. The Knights trail Memphis by five strokes and South Florida by just one.
