ORLANDO, Fla ( - Instead of sleeping in, UCF Softball spent its Sunday morning cheering on runners during the U Can Finish race.

The Knights arrived on campus at 7:00 a.m. where they met with Davonte Anderson, assistant director of student athlete welfare and development. He provided the Knights with direction on where they needed to be during the race. The softball and baseball team shared the baseball field, where they held a competition on who could be the loudest cheerers.

It took about an hour and a half for the first runner to arrive at the baseball field. The next fun-filled hour consisted of cheers created by UCF Softball. Encouraging the runners to continue even though they were tired, the ladies were told that they were "way louder than baseball."

Ending their weekend with a bang, they began this week with one as well. A tough week of conditioning and practice has the Knights ready for tomorrow's opponents at the UCF Softball Complex. UCF welcomes Eastern Florida at 10:30 a.m. and Warner at 4:30 p.m.
