ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Third time is a charm for Cal Jennings as he is named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
In two games last week, Jennings compiled four goals and an assist equaling nine points. Of the 12 goals the Knights racked up in the two matchups, Jennings accounted for a third of them.
In the offensive frenzy against Jacksonville, the junior netted two goals in under 20 minutes and dished out an assist for five points and added four more against Tulsa after scoring back-to-back goals in the 4-3 win.
The native from Roswell, Ga., is topping The American in almost every offensive category including total goals, total points, shots per game, shot accuracy, points per game, and game winnings goals. Jennings is also second in the nation in those same categories.
This is the fourth Offensive Player of the Week for UCF and sixth weekly award overall. Previous weekly award winnings include Louis Perez (Aug.27), Jennings (Sept. 3 & 17), and Yannik Oettl (Sept. 10 & Oct. 1).
The Knights are back home for three straight matches beginning with a battle with UConn which will be featured on ESPNU on Friday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m.
