ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) - Following the graduation of 45 student-athletes over the weekend, yet another successful semester in the classroom has passed for UCF Athletics and the spring of 2017 was one to remember.

The Knights put forth a department-wide record grade-point average (GPA) of 3.27, marking the 19th consecutive term of the department recording a GPA above a 3.0.

More than 60 percent of UCF student-athletes finished the spring semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and an unprecedented 36.2 percent earned Dean's List honors for holding 3.4 or higher. A total of 37 Knights recorded a perfect 4.0 for the semester.

"We are extremely proud of the academic success we have had here at UCF," said Dr. Eric Wood, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Academic Services. "Our student-athletes put in a great deal of time and effort into their academics and these results show that. We have a great culture of support for our student-athletes here at UCF and we take pride in their ability to succeed in both athletics and academics."

The volleyball team held the highest GPA for the spring semester, recording a team average GPA of 3.74. The men's tennis team recorded the top GPA among the men's teams, finishing the spring with a GPA of 3.36.
