ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- UCF has won another national championship. The UCF Athletics Video and Creative Services team was named winner of the Outstanding Program Series for Collegiate Athletics at the 2018 SVG College Sports Media Awards (CSMA) in association with NACDA. UCF's winning entry was KnightFlicks, which documented the Knights' historic 2017 football season.

Winners were selected by a panel of judges and announced Thursday evening at the ninth-annual College Sports Media Awards ceremony at the SVG College Summit at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta. UCF won the award over nominees from Duke University, Michigan State University, Northwestern University, the Patriot League, Penn State University, and two entries from the University of Notre Dame.

UCF Senior Producer Zach Peterson and Director of Production David Belawski accepted the award.

"It's an absolute honor to have your work recognized among your peers," Peterson said. "It's an even bigger honor when their work drives you to push the boundaries of what you think your capable of doing. hank you, first and foremost, to our student-athletes. Without them and the hard work they put in on and off the field this award would not have been possible. To the 2017-18 coaching staff and administration, thank you. Thank you for trusting us and believing in our vision and giving us the access to create the content we do. Winning an award like this takes a lot of talented individuals working together to tell the story of our UCF Knights. I'd like to thank a few individuals ... David Belawski, Bobby Blankenship, Hunter Kaufman, Andrew Kiger, Tim Nitsch, Leland Dutcher, Austin Hittel, Terrance Beavers and Brandon Goodman. To the wealth of knowledge that is Marc Daniels and Garry Parris, thank you. Thank you for all of the great memorable calls this season."

"I'm proud of this award because it was a true team effort from our students to our staff," Belawski added. "This is a great way to cap off an amazing season."
