January 08, 2019

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- As the spring semester gets under way at UCF, the Knights look back on another fabulous fall semester in the classroom. UCF student-athletes compiled a department-wide 3.29 grade-point average, the third highest on record for the Knights.

This past semester marked the 22nd straight term of a department GPA of 3.0 or better. UCF saw a school record 289 student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or better last semester.

"I love how our student-athletes excel both in the classroom and in competition," said Tara Helton, Assistant Athletics Director for Academics. "Their successes really show their passion for everything they do, including their work in class. These results also shows how committed everyone at UCF Athletics, including our coaches and ASSA staff, is to the success of our student-athletes."

The Knights had a total of 36 student-athletes recognized on the President's List with a 4.0 GPA. A total of 170 were recognized as Dean's List (3.5+) and 286 were on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll (3.0+).

In addition to the overall success, three Knight programs recorded their best academic semesters on record. The American Athletic Conference Champion volleyball team compiled a 3.77 GPA, besting their previous high of 3.75 from Spring 2017. Women's soccer turned in a 3.59 GPA, topping their 3.46 from Spring 2017. Meanwhile, the baseball team broke a 10-year-old GPA record. Baseball tallied a 3.29 GPA, with their previous best being 3.25 from Fall 2008.
