ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – With the 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship less than a week away, the UCF women’s golf team will have an alumna in the field. Stephanie Connelly Eiswerth will compete in the third major championship of the year.
Connelly is one of nine LPGA or female PGA teaching professionals who earned a spot in the field. In its efforts to elevate women in both business and golf, KPMG welcomes the LPGA and female PGA members who qualify in the top nine spots of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals National Championship to compete alongside the pros in their LPGA Major event.
Connelly punched her ticket to the major by way of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals National Championship last August. She won the tournament with a score of 2-under over three days of play at Pinehurst No. 8 in Pinehurst, N.C.
Connelly was a three-time All-Conference USA selection during her three years at UCF from 2007-09. She finished in 11th place at the 2009 NCAA National Championship. After her collegiate career concluded, Connelly played professionally for seven years, before joining North Florida as an assistant coach.
The 65th Women's PGA Championship will take place from June 20-23 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn. First and second round coverage can be found on Golf Channel, with weekend coverage on NBC.
