UCF Wraps Up First Round of Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UCFKnights.com) – After the first round of the 2019 Division I Women’s National Championship, the UCF Knights are tied for 18th place with a score of 321(+29).

UCF is tied with No. 11 Florida and No. 9 Florida State and is ahead Indiana, No. 23 San Jose State, No. 5 Kent State, and No. 36 Tennessee.

No teams shot under par in the opening round with the leader at 302(+10) as Texas holds the lead.

Alyssa Lamoureux paced the Knights with a 77(+4) and is tied for 27th place heading into the second round. The freshman was leading the field after the front nine making the turn at one-under.

Elizabeth Moon was just behind Lamoureux with an 80(+7) collecting three birdies. After hitting into trouble on the 16th hole, Moon made a 20-foot putt to save par as she helped the Knights tally 43 pars.

Ana Laura Collado and Maria Balcazar each shot 82(+9), while Chinatsu Kobayashi recorded an 85(+12). Collado was just two-over on the front nine and Balcazar made clutch putts on the back to save par.

Throughout the field, no team averaged under par on any par three or par four at the Blessings Golf Course.


The National Championship will continue Saturday as the Knights will tee off at 2:01 p.m. ET.
