Associate AD, Championship Resources

Matt Kommer is in his second stint serving UCF Athletics since 2007.

In his current position, Kommer serves as the Associate Athletics Director for Major Gifts.  At UCF, his focus is on impactful gifts of $25,000 or more and leadership gifts of $100,000 and larger to advance UCF programs and student-athletes.  In addition, he assists in the management of the strategic direction of the major gifts team with a focus on prospecting & stewardship of all potential and current donors.
Recently, Kommer oversaw fund-raising for the completion of the $3.3 million John Euliano Park Expansion (2018) as well as a renovated baseball locker room project (2019).

Over a five-year period (2014-18), Kommer was part of a development team that has raised over $70 million, including upgrades for the Wayne Densch Student-Athlete Leadership Center, John Euliano Park, baseball locker room, football locker room, Gault-Kohn Football Performance Center, Roth Athletics Center, Kenneth G. Dixon Athletics Village, Garvy Nutrition Center, Nicholson Plaza and Recovery Cove, in addition to significant fund-raising for sport specific giving.

During that five-year stretch, Kommer was responsible for procuring significant philanthropic commitments including endowments, cash pledges, capital projects and estate/planned gifts. In Fiscal Year 2017, UCF Championship Resources (Development) set a UCF fund-raising record with over $17.5 million raised.

During his tenure as the Premium Seating Manager (2012-2013), Kommer set then-overall premium revenue highs for both football and basketball premium seating, including the first-ever 100 percent premium seating season sellout of Spectrum Stadium. He was directly responsible for generating over $3 million in premium seating revenue during this time. In addition, Kommer initiated both the “I give 110%” & “All In” annual giving campaigns that raised over $100,000 in annual giving support in two years.
Kommer began his professional career at UCF as an Intern in the ticket sales office in the fall of 2007.  He would later be hired full-time as a ticket sales account representative in the summer of 2008. He would then go on to spend over three years in four different positions in the ticket sales office (including Interim Director), before leaving in 2011 to pursue collegiate athletics further in a development role.
Kommer earned a bachelor's degree in Sports Management in 2007. Currently he is earning his master’s degree in Business Administration at UCF.
A native of Rochester, NY., Kommer and his wife Ali reside in Oviedo, FL. They are expecting their first child in March 2019.
