Alex Parr joined the Knights in 2016 as the Director of Sports Performance for Olympic Sports.

Parr spent the last three years at Old Dominion where he was the Associate Director of Sports Performance, working with men's basketball, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's golf. With the Monarchs, he was responsible for designing comprehensive and sport-specific programs, which focused on strength, flexibility, balance, agility and conditioning, as well as nutrition consultation.

Prior to his time at ODU, Parr also made stops at Miami and George Washington. He was an Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning for the Hurricanes from 2011-2013, working specifically with women's basketball and swimming & diving. From 2008-11, he was GWU's main strength and conditioning coach with oversight over all 22 programs.

The Montgomery Village, Maryland, native is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a Level One Sports Performance Coach through United State Weightlifting, along with a Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Parr is additionally a specialist in sports nutrition through the International Sports Sciences Association and is an active isolated stretching specialist.

Parr graduated from Maryland in 2006 with a degree in finance. He then went to George Washington to earn his Master's in Exercise Science in 2008.
