Micah James joined the UCF Football staff as an offensive graduate assistant in January of 2018.

He previously spent one year as a graduate assistant at Maryland for the 2017 season. With the Terrapins, James worked with First Team All-Big 10 receiver D.J. Moore, who ranked ninth in the nation in receptions per game with 6.7.

Prior to Maryland, James worked as a graduate assistant at Arkansas State for the 2015 and 2016 campaigns, including a pair of bowl wins.

James went to A-State after completing an All-Sun Belt Conference playing career at Middle Tennessee State University in 2012, which was followed by an invitation to participate in the Atlanta Falcon's and Dallas Cowboys' rookie mini-camps in 2013.

James earned his bachelor's degree in general studies with an emphasis in criminal justice and coaching from Middle Tennessee in 2012. He achieved his associates degree in 2010 from Georgia Military before transferring to MTSU.

A Hoschton, Ga., native, James earned first team all-region and all-county honors while playing at Mill Creek High School.
