Linda Gooch is a former 4 year letter-winner and alumni of UCF. She completed her 31st season as the coach of UCF's nationally respected cheerleading team in 2016 and Head Coach of UCF's Spirit Program including the cheerleaders, KnightMoves Dance Team and mascot Knightro. Since Coach Gooch's squad began competing in the national championships in 1994, the Knights have finished in the top-10 in 21 of the past 23 years, including finishing runner-up in each of the past three seasons. In 2003, the team won their first national crown ending the University of Kentucky's streak of eight-consecutive titles. In 2007, UCF claimed their second national championship outlasting several SEC schools, including Kentucky. The team received overwhelming response from a national audience during the 2007-08 season when the UCF Cheerleading program was featured in a six-part television documentary that followed the team as they prepared to defend their national title. The 2013-14 season had many highlights starting in April with UCF's 2003 Championship team being inducted into the UCF Athletics Hall of Fame. In October UCF received an invitation to travel to Paris, France where the team won the European Cup Championship. UCF competed against teams from 33 countries including Austria, Japan, Sweden, Russia, Switzerland, and Finland. Coach Gooch is married to former UCF Football Assistant Coach Alan Gooch (also an alumni). Coach Alan Gooch was a member of the Knights football staff for more than 20 years. The couple has 2 sons Zach 16 and Noah 13.
