In Sims' three seasons with UCF, the Knights have reached two NCAA Regionals and won the 2015 American Athletic Conference Championship.

Sims helped coach Ashley Holder to back-to-back American Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors (2014, 2015) and an individual NCAA Regional berth (2016). 

He also helped lead Monifa Sealy to individual medalist honors at the 2015 AAC Championship. The Knights brought home both AAC Freshman of the Year honors during Sims' first two years, with Holder (2014) and Laura Sojo (2015) earning those accolades. Sims and head coach Emily Marron have coached the Knights to eight All-AAC honors in the past three seasons.

Sims came to UCF after serving as a caddie for LPGA Tour professional Marcy Hart. He also has experience as a professional and college player. Sims caddied for Hart in 12 LPGA Tour events from September of 2011 through April of 2013. In addition to his caddying experience, Sims has played professional events on the Florida Professional Golf Tour, the eGolf Tour, the NGA Hooters Tour, the Carolinas Professional Golf Tour and the Emerald Coast Golf Tour. His professional highlights include carding a round of 59 at the Wilshire Golf Club in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Sims served as an assistant golf course professional at the A.C. Read Golf Course at the Pensacola Naval Air Station from 2007-2011.

Sims is a 2006 graduate of Troy University, where he was a four-year starter and letterwinner for the Trojans. He was the 2005 Emerald Coast Collegiate Championship medalist during his collegiate career. He holds a bachelor's degree in sport and fitness management from Troy. (Updated 6.6.19)
