Bio

Kevin Wilson joined the Knights in June 2016 as the director of athletics development, major gifts. His primary focus is the pursuit of major gift revenues for the Golden Knights Club (GKC), the Everyday Champion Athletic Scholarship Program, sport specific and capital fundraising initiatives.

Wilson comes to UCF from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) where he served as the Associate Athletics Director for Development. Wilson oversaw all athletics development initiatives, including major/planned giving and corporate relations, and served as a member of the Athletics Director's senior staff.

Under Wilson's leadership, NCCU Athletics saw historic philanthropic growth. Endowed scholarship support grew by 50% spearheaded by the establishment of five new endowments. The NCCU Eagle Club also reached more than 500 donors for the first time ever resulting in more than $200,000 in scholarship support, and the department added six new nationally-recognized corporate partners.

Prior to NCCU, Wilson served as the assistant athletics director for development & marketing at Fayetteville State University (FSU). While at FSU, Wilson oversaw all development and marketing initiatives for the athletics department. During his tenure, FSU realized more than $100,000 in major gift commitments to support athletics scholarships and established partnerships with brands such as the Holiday-Inn, CenturyLink, North Carolina Education Lottery, North Carolina National Guard, and Papa Johns.

A native of Riverdale, Ga., Wilson earned his master's degree in physical education from NCCU in 2012 and his bachelor's degree in philosophy from Duke University in 2006. While at Duke, he was a three-year letterman in football under Ted Roof.

Wilson is also a proud alumnus of the NCAA Minority Leadership Institute (2011) and an active member of several professional organizations including Council for the Support of Education (CASE) and the National Association of Athletics Development Directors (NAADD).

Wilson is happily married to Dr. S. Lavi Wilson and they reside with their son, Kendrick Mason Wilson, in the City Beautiful.
