In her first season at UH, the Houston Athletics Ticket Sales department sold a record number of football season tickets and had already broken that record before she left in 2016. Baseball season tickets saw an increase of 185 percent during Smoley's first year with the Cougars, as well.
Smoley spent the previous seven years in a variety of roles with the NFL's Miami Dolphins. She began as a ticket sales associate with the team in 2007 and moved through the ranks as a season ticket sales account executive, season ticket sales senior manager, sales operations senior manager and, most recently, as ticket sales director of business development.
In her most recent role, she developed a season ticket strategic plan that generated more than $2.2 million from the previous season. The Dolphins led all NFL teams in new premium seat sales in 2013.
As the sales operations senior manager, Smoley recruited, hired, trained and led the NFL's largest ticket sales team with more than 70 sales associates.
A native of Miami Beach, Fla., she received her bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in communications and public relations from Florida State.
